Cellulite Treatment: surgical procedures
Because traditional liposuction used as a cellulite removal procedure can sometimes make cellulite look worse by creating more skin depressions, aggravating the connecting tissue, doctor have come up with a special form of liposuction designed for cellulite. This type of surgery is called Laser Lipolysis. The claim for this form of liposuction is that when used with a laser, the laser will actually help to tighten the skin, improving the appearance of cellulite. There has been no type of formal study done on this type of Liposuction as of yet, considering it is a newer procedure.
Cellulite subcision is another type of cellulite treatment. This type of procedure involves the cutting of fibrous bands of connective tissue, causing the fat in this area to drop down and be distributed evenly in the area, getting rid of the dimpled pockets of fat that cause cellulite. This is said to give some individuals amazing results, but it is also a very invasive and painful treatment. It also may be hard to find a doctor that can perform the procedure as it’s not widely available.
Belt lipectomy is a cellulite removal treatment where excess skin is removed. The remaining skin is tightened to fit over the area, in a new and lifted position. While it may not completely get rid of cellulite, it can dramatically leave your skin with a newer smoother appearance; however, this type of procedure will leave the individual with a significant amount of scarring.
Fat grafting is a cellulite treatment where the patient’s own fat cells are grafted in areas where cellulite occurs and is used to fill in the fatty pockets of the flesh that causes the bumpy cellulite appearance. However, because the fat will eventually be absorbed by your body, this is not a permanent cellulite removal solution.
Cellulite Treatment: the less invasive approach
If you aren’t ready to go under the knife, for whatever reason, there are definitely less invasive approaches available, some may work for you, but most will do their best to only diminish the appearance of cellulite.
